I’ll continue this episode, hoping that it will be an exciting episode. I also would like to know what’s the significance of that old book LS saw.

    Episode 3 – Commentary

    Frame no 2:

It’s a rather tense moment and the use of indirect communication.

By the way, the avatars are incredibly similar. Did you use the same actress for both?

    Frame no 3:

No continuation yet from the old book LS saw in the cliffhanger.

But the book club scenes are excellent.

    Frame no 6:

There’s something sinister about Secretary Do, but as far as this frame goes, I’m getting impatient seeing these two but I have no idea on how one or both would be a villain. I originally thought GY will be part of the harem, but it looks like that won’t happen.

    Frame no 7:

I can only wish I the avatar of YR were frowning. It’s a little congruent imagining her frowning or uncomfortable yet I’m seeing her avatar smiling. Lol

    Frame no 8:

Manager Hwang goes for the kill. This was a rather uncomfortable scene, one that the #metoo activists would have a field day.

    Frame no 12:

I don’t exactly get the details of the scene, but the way Manager Jang reacted means she now knows that YR was trapped.

I’ll try to make sense of YR’s mistake. Correct me if I’m wrong. The property in question was originally priced at 700,000 won, but for some reason, it depreciated in value so that it’s no longer worth renting out.

But if YR was able to have LS rent it at the basic price, above its current price, why is it a mistake, so much that Manager Hwang could blackmail YR? Shouldn’t YR be commended for being able to sell sand to someone in the desert?

    Frame no 13:

Oh please, you two. Get to the plot quickly! I’m getting tired of seeing Manager Hwang.

    Frame no 14:

Manager Hwang is violent and inhumane.

    Frame no 17:

GY now becomes YR’s knight in shining armour after the former hit back on Manager Jang.

    Frame no 20:

Manager Hwang took over Manager Jang’s job. He’s pretty shrewd that he was able to plan this far.

    Frame no 21:

Who is that mysterious woman? My guess is either Manager Hwang or someone she knows, a sister or a friend.

We also get another mystery. Who is Chrysanthemum?

    Frame no 23:

This is a better scene. GY confronts LS because there was a mistake: LS shouldn’t have been able to rent that place in the first place.

Anyway, this confrontation begs the question. What makes this bookstore so valuable to GY that he would offer other places that seem to be better, even offer one rent-free?

    Conclusion

We don’t get answers on what is the ancient book LS found in episode 2. Now we see GY trying to bribe LS to leave. Whatever his reason, perhaps it has something to do with the ancient book.

Even though there were some significant events here, I felt bored and did not feel engaged with this episode compared to episode 2. Perhaps it has something to do with not being able to know what the heck the ancient book is, and at the same time, putting up with Manager Hwang’s shit.

I feel this episode only got better when GY hit Manager Jang to the end. The book club scene was nice. Too bad it’s just a small part in this episode.

#2. These are two different actresses. I don't remember the names. I listed the actors on twitter.

#4. Cool that you like the book club scenes. I think this is the weak point, because the story doesn't move forward. However, something funny always happens. And it's nice to see the characters interact.

#6. Secretary Do is Gong Yu's right-hand man. Discreet, dark, not very expressive.

#7. Unfortunately. I should have chosen a more neutral image for the avatar. I'll note it on my list of things to change.

#8. My favorite scene of the drama. Hard to write, but worth it.

#12. Nothing says Manager Jang thinks Ye-Ri was framed. She's even angry about her mistake.

Manager Hwang didn't blackmail Ye-Ri by using Lee Seol's store (see scene #8). He mentions another file (a duplex) and a series of mistakes by Ye-Ri (without detail). But his last line indicates that he's going to use her biggest mistake to punish her.

The sad reality is that Ye-Ri is indeed incompetent. She rented Lee Seol's store by mistake. The store's value remained that of the past, 700k won. Today, it should cost more (at least double).

#13. This short scene is used to give the idea that Gong Yu is about to enter the building (and thus arrive at the end of the alteraction between Manager Jang and Ye-Ri).

#14. This is a Makjang scene. Inspired by Kim Eun Sook. (the Penthouse). I was motivated to write this kind of thing. Even though in W2, I have some over-dramatic scenes. I wanted to capture the crescendo of brutality, the energy, the violence, the cruelty, and make it something you feel viscerally when you read it (and therefore on screen).

#23. Remember, episode 1. It's Gong Yu nailing boards to the store. Something ails him about this place. Why it should never have been rented. Poor Lee Seol has nothing to do with it and suffers his wrath... ahah.

        Conclusion.

No answer about the red book Lee Seol found, but maybe that's why she doesn't want to leave this store.

Episode 3 is my favorite because the dramatic scenes follow one another without interruption. As with Kim Eun Sook's dramas, you have to love seeing the bastards in action (and sometimes winning, or losing to other bastards). It's pretty insane. I see it as dark-comedy.
